EVANGELION Sold 220,000 copies - Wednesday, April 30, 2008
Last year’s theatrical release of EVANGELION went on sale this week on DVD. The disc sold roughly 220,000 copies in its first week, making it the highest selling first week of 2008.  
Celebrate Remixes
According to a new blog entry by Japanese DJ JIN, EMI Japan is asking several top DJs to create remixes for Hikki’s track “Celebrate,” off of her latest album “HEART STATION.” There are no plans for an official release of the mixes, as these are only meant for DJ use at clubs to help promote the album. DJ JIN’s mix is titled “Celebrate (DJ JIN Spiritual Screwed-Up Edit),” a slower, down tempo mix which features a long and short version, with the longer edit including a mixed version of the Gentle Beast Interlude. The sudden rise on these charts can be attributed to the high first week sales figures for her latest album, “HEART STATION.” Additionally, 16 out of the top 100 songs downloaded on iTunes Japan are Utada tracks, with “Prisoner Of Love” ranking highest at #5, followed by “Fight The Blues” at #7. On the album side, “HEART STATION” ranks in at #1, ahead of 3 of her other albums for a total of 4 disc in the iTunes Japan album top 100.

Hikki’s album, “HEART STATION,” is now available for PC and Chaku-Uta Full downloads. This includes the ever popular iTunes Japan, where the album is already at #1 after just a few hours of availability. The iTunes version clearly indicates that this digital version of the album has been mastered by Sterling Sound’s Tom Coyne, different from the physical CD release which was mastered by Ted Jensen, also of Sterling Sound. This unusual approach of mastering the album twice for different formats was utilized to take full advantage of each formats’ strengths.
